Gabriela Aparecida de Oliveira,"Who’s Afraid of Milei? The Role of Affect in Feminist Political Organizing Against the Far-Right in Argentina"
Resumo: The paper aims to provide reflections on how grassroots feminisms organize in response to the populist right-wing attacks and austerity politics in contemporary Argentina, while exploring the affective aspects of their interactions. By analysing some discourses and performances of the Ni Una Menos movement in response to Javier Milei’s government, primarily gathered from online news and social media, it becomes evident that they build a powerful counterforce through the strategic use of affect, emotions, and feelings, embodying new forms of agency. Fear is understood as a significant emotion in feminist organizing, triggered by neoconservative right-wing actors who consider “gender,” “feminism,” and “sexual dissents” as threats to the family and the nation, often blaming them for the economic and political crisis. Although this emotion may initially seem paralyzing, the effort to overcome it by refusing to succumb to victimization, alongside a vibrant “desire for change” and the embodiment of “feminist potencia”, emerges as a path for resistance. The analysis is mainly based on the works of Verónica Gago, Judith Butler, and Sara Ahmed on fear within politics, and supplemented with Rodrigo Nunes’ discussions on political organizing.

Marina Sertã Miranda e Douglas Welter Reichert, "The RuPaul Phenomenon: Is Drag inherently transgressive, subversive or even revolutionary?"
Resumo: This article examines the rise to fame of RuPaul Andre Charles, a prominent figure in American drag culture, recognized as the most commercially successful drag queen. Emerging in the early 1990s with the hit single "Supermodel (You Better Work)," RuPaul's career expanded through modeling, television hosting, and acting in both cult classics and mainstream films. His status as an icon was solidified in the 2010s with his groundbreaking reality show "RuPaul’s Drag Race," which has had significant cultural implications. This study explores the political dimensions of RuPaul's ascent and interrogates the notions of transgression and subversion within the drag scene. Utilizing Deleuze and Guattari’s framework from "A Thousand Plateaus," we analyze the dynamics of RuPaul's fame and the broader television phenomenon, considering its impact on the LGBTQAI+ community. We conceptualize "RuPaul’s Drag Race" - through Rodrigo Nunes’s concepts - as an ecological system, investigating how its actions and narratives resonate throughout the community, thereby contributing to ongoing discussions about identity, representation, and cultural evolution.
